Compassion Focused Therapy
Individual Therapy Tailored to your Needs
Individual psychological therapy with me is a safe and confidential space to understand your problems, make sense of why you do the things you do to cope, heal your emotional wounds and learn new ways of managing your feelings and relationships. The relationship you have with me and how you feel when we are together is extremely important so you can feel safe enough to share what is going on for you. I will do all I can to help you to feel comfortable from the start and this may be something we need to work on over a longer period of time if you find it hard to trust people because of what has happened to you.
Therapy starts with an assessment, which is an opportunity for me to understand why you are here, what your goals are, what has happened in your life and how you have coped. I will use my psychological knowledge to help us develop a shared understanding of why you are struggling. We can then plan the treatment that we think might help which could include Schema Therapy, EMDR or Compassion Focused Therapy.
Throughout therapy I will check out with you if you are finding our sessions helpful. There are lots of different ways we can work together and your feedback helps me to adapt the therapy so you can get what you need.
Individual therapy can be short term (about 12 sessions) or longer term, depending on what you want to work on and what your goals are. I find that working together on a weekly basis is the most effective frequency to make progress and in some circumstances I think this frequency is essential, for example if we are working on difficult past experiences. I will guide you about this when we meet and we can come up with a plan that works for you.
Individual therapy sessions are £110 and held either face to face in my therapy room on a farm in Lea, Herefordshire, or online via zoom.
